Cancer awareness months

You might ask what is cancer? Cancer is a disease where cells divide and multiply out of control. Cancer is such an important disease that many months are cancer awareness months.
March is the first cancer awareness month. This month is colon cancer awareness. Colon cancer is a type of cancer found in your large intestine called the colon. Symptoms of this type of cancer are tiredness, discomfort in stomach, constipation, and blood in the stool.
The second cancer awareness month is May. The month May is bladder cancer, brain cancer, and skin cancer awareness. Bladder cancer is caused by urothelial cells in the bladder. Symptoms of this type of cancer are blood in urine, back pain, and frequent urination. Brain cancer is caused by cells growing in the brain or near it. Symptoms of this type of cancer are headaches, nausea, vomiting, and trouble with balance. Skin cancer is an excess growth of cells in the epidermis. There are different types of skin cancer such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.
The third cancer awareness month is June. This month is cancer survivors awareness month. This month appreciates others’ brave battles with cancer.
The fourth cancer awareness month is July. July is bone cancer awareness month. There are three types of bone cancer. The three types are osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, and ewing sarcoma. Symptoms of this type of cancer are bone pain, weakened bones, fatigue, and weight loss.
The fifth cancer awareness month is September. This month is childhood cancer, gynecological cancer, leukemia, prostate cancer, and uterine cancer. Childhood cancer appreciates kids who have had cancer. Gynecology and uterine deal with cancer in female reproductive organs. Leukemia is a cancer caused by blood-forming tissues. Prostate cancer deals with cancer in male reproductive organs.
The sixth cancer awareness month is October. This month is breast cancer and liver cancer awareness month. Breast cancer is a group of cells in the breast which causes a lump. Symptoms are redness and peeling or flaking of skin around the nipple. Liver cancer is cancer in cells of the lining of your liver. Causes of liver cancer are diabetes, fatty liver disease, and excessive alcohol consumption. Symptoms are loss of appetite, abdominal pain, yellow or pale skin, nausea, and vomiting.
Finally, the last cancer awareness month is in November. This month is bone marrow, lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. Bone marrow cancer also known as multiple myeloma is cancer that forms in white blood cells called plasma. Symptoms of bone marrow cancer are bone pain, weakness, nausea, and loss of appetite. Lung cancer is the type of cancer that causes the most amount of deaths worldwide. Symptoms are chest pain, hard time breathing, headache, and coughing up blood. Pancreatic cancer is caused by changes of cell DNA in the pancreas. There are many different types of pancreatic cancer such as adenocarcinoma, pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs), and mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCN). Symptoms of this type of cancer are belly pain, swelling of arms, and tiredness.
